Football Favorites via Instagram

Football season has always been a big deal to me. It's not my favorite sport to watch, but I have so many wonderful memories that connect me to the game. My dad, since the time I was little, has taken me to University of Utah football games and it has been such a good bonding experience for us. Then as I got into junior high school, the hot thing on the block was to go to the high school football games and stand around the track with your friends and socialize. Then we would walk to nearby restaurants, eat, and then wait for our parents to pick us up. Now that I'm in high school, games are ten times the fun. Dancing at half time shows, watching my friends play, and cheering them on with all my friends. You could say that football season is definitely a highlight!

Below are my Instagram pictures from some of this years football games. I'm going to be sharing some of my football favorites on apparel, friday night weather hacks and being prepared as a performer but still looking put together after words. I've also linked some of my favorite items through out the post. This is what works for me, I hope you can take bits and pieces to make you football season a little bit sweeter. Enjoy!

^^Now this isn't a necessity but it make the games more fun. I love being decked out in my LHS attire when I go to games, but my favorite games to get dressed for are Utah games. PINK by Victoria Secret has the cutest college/pro attire. My current item of choice is this Utah boyfriend half zip up hoodie!!
^^From on the sidelines I've learned that the weather is different every game. When it is blazing hot, I go for just a tee shirt and jeans. When it's raining, I always make sure I come prepared with a waterproof jacket that has a hood, or I bring a beanie. A hair elastic is always a good thing to have to be able put my hair up. My natural curl is 10x worse after the rain hits it.
^^When it's cold outside, the game can be miserable to watch. Key word: can. All you have to do is be prepared! My biggest tip is to LAYER!! Under my coat or heavy jacket, I usually wear another jacket that has a hood. This way you keep warm (or you can take off a layer if you get too warm) and it adds cute detail to your outfit. Sometimes depending on how cold, you can get away with just a jacket and a big fuzzy blanket.

I also find it easier to sit through a game if my ears, hands, and feet are warm. For my ears, my go to is a beanie, but I also think that big thick headbands are super cute when your hair is down. For my hands, I love knit touchscreen cloth gloves so that you can still use your phone. To keep my toes warm I usually stick to fuzzy socks and boots. I haven't had to pull out many of these layering tricks yet because the weather has been warm this season. Last season though was freezing, That is where I picked up all these tips.
^^Last but not least is what I wear as a performer. Now this can not only apply to dance/drill teams, but also cheerleaders, marching bands, color guard, ect. Sometimes it can be hard to adapt to the weather when you are performing with a group because everyone is in uniform. But come on, if we weren't in uniform.. that would be a hot mess. The best way I have found to make sure that you are dressed appropriate for the weather but also look cute and put together, is to plan ahead. Still use the layering tips I've suggested above, but make sure that you lay it all out before hand. The worst thing is going back to change after a performance and you've forgot something.
