As trends come & go, one thing I have always been drawn to is BIG jewelry. I love big earrings, chunky necklaces, flashy rings & big arm stacks. During quarantine while I was experimenting with my athleisure style, my work from home style & all the new lounge wear trends, I started gravitating towards dainty jewelry. I love the look of a dainty ring on every finger & lots of stacked chain necklaces.
Stacking necklaces can seem daunting so I want to give you a few tips that help me style my stacks!
Various Chain Textures & Weights
When collecting chains & dainty necklaces, I like to look for pieces that are different from things I already have. Get different chain styles & different chain weights. It's good to have variety! From dainty chains to chunky chains... it really changes up the look when you have different chain styles!
Various Chain Lengths
When starting to put together my look, I always start with a choker, or a chain that is short enough to sit tight around my neck. Then I pick a long chain that works well with the neckline of my shirt & also compliments my outfit. Lastly I pick 1-3 chains that fit in the middle of the longest & the shortest necklace. Most necklaces are adjustable so it's easy to put the clasp where you want it to make sure all your necklaces have the right length to give you that layered look.
Odd Numbers Always
Sometimes I will do a dainty choker with a bigger chunky necklace, but if I ever add more than two necklaces to my stack, I try to keep the numbers odd. 3 necklaces, or 5 just look better. This is a tip you can take to ANYTHING you're styling. Odd numbers is always a good rule of thumb to have. Odd number of accessories on a bookshelf, odd numbers of layers in an outfit, 3 or 5 pillows on your couch... & odd numbers on NECKLACE STACKS!!
The following necklaces are from Twisted Silver that I have worn on repeat for the last YEAR. I had the pleasure of spending time with the designer Debra in Florida this year. She has a heart of gold & is so enlightened.
