Life is so busy!! No matter how hard I try to simplify my life, I keep saying yes to opportunities & I'm always on the verge of an over booked schedule. I'm not perfect & there are so many things I could do better at but these are a few tricks that help me survive the grind of a busy life.
Calendaring- Write all your crap down! I love Google Calendar. I can schedule out every second of my day in that app & color code it. I even have my calendar linked with my mom's & my dad's so that we are always on the same page.
Meal Prepping- In junior high I was a meal prep pro. I'm so proud of my 14-year-old self. Sadly, I'm not as good or as strict as I once was, but I do still meal prep. Instead of making all 5 or 6 meals in one day though, I usually just make 1 or 2 a night. This saves me so much stress & money! If I don't meal prep, I run out of time in the mornings to get my food together. Then I waste money going to buy food at a restaurant or buying overpriced, prepackaged food.
Bag Prepping- Just like prepping my meals, I like to prep my bag(s). I have my bag for my desk job, a dance bag for when I teach dance, a gym bag & a bag for Lexie Faith Designs. If I don't prep my bags at night, I am sure to forget something really important. SIDE NOTE: Would you guys be interested in seeing what goes in these bags? Let me know!!
Packing a Battery Pack- My life is on my phone. My emails for business & personal, photos, social media, graphic design & editing apps. I love to ditch my phone in my room & go live life unplugged every few days, but if I'm working... I need it. Especially when I have my long days, 7:30 am- 9 pm, it is crucial that I bring my battery pack. This is the one I love!
Editorial Calendar- This one won't work for everyone but it works so well for me. I love having a big monthly calendar to help me visualize deadlines & project timelines. I always buy mine mid-way through January so they are cheaper. Start with a small one & see if this system boosts productivity for you!
I love hearing what works for other people. Comment & share what helps you manage your beautiful, crazy life!
