Surf, salt and sand. Just a few things I love about the ocean. However, skin cancer and premature wrinkles really freak me out so laying out and tanning is not really my thing. A hat and sunscreen at the beach are my best friend. What's yours? Even if it is sun tan lotion! Leave me a comment!!
About a month ago when I was in California, I was able to go see the Broadway musical "Wicked." The building was beautiful and the show was amazing! This is the outfit I packed for this event. Gold polka dots and hot pink... Is there a better combo?
Day two at Disney... Oh my gosh it was FREEZING!!! And yes, do you see those shorts I was wearing? Even though thinking about how cold with was is making me get goose bumps while I write this, the day was still full of great memories!!
Since it was so cold I feel like we tried to do a lot of the indoor attractions like the exhibits and any of the rides that were inside a building. Any time we went to eat we got something warm and stayed in the restaurant way longer than we should've for being at Disneyland. It still was a great time though. I soaked up every moment of this trip because I knew it was going to be one of the last times that it was just me and my parents, bonding and making memories.
I hope you enjoy my pictures from Disney, day two!!
While I was in Yellowstone my main focus was to be comfortable since a lot of my time would be spent in the car. I love, love, LOVE this graphic crew neck sweatshirt. I also relied heavily on beanies since I was way to lazy to attempt to do my hair. I especially love the sweatshirts and beanies from Forever 21. They are so trendy, cute, comfy and inexpensive! Check the links below to see all of the cute inventory Forever 21 has!!
Over fall break my family and I went to Yellowstone. Our first stop in the park was to see the Grand Tetons and Ole' Faithful. My dad and his family came to Yellowstone a lot when he was growing up. He has always told us stories about his adventures there. When my dad was my age he hiked up the middle peak of the Tetons. I gladly sat and listened to the story with a diet Mountain Dew in one hand, my camera in the other, and no desire to climb that mountain! The other story was that when he went to see Ole' Faithful, he tried to get a shot of the highest point of the geyser and ended up using his whole role of film. That story made me thankful for my digital camera and the ability to delete bad quality pictures without any hassle.
Throughout the morning, the weather was freezing! I was so glad I had this coat from Calvin Klein and I am totally obsessed with the cobalt blue color of it too!
To celebrate Labor Day weekend my family went to our little home away from home in Idaho. I posted a video diary about it, click here to watch!! We love spending time at our cabin! I love how casual and relaxing it is. There is no service or wifi (gasp) so we are totally unplugged and forced to carry on a conversation without picking up the social media (just kidding, I promise we aren't that socially awkward). I love it! Now we are back, recharged and ready to get some work in!!
As of late I have been brainstorming some new content ideas for my blog as well as my social media platforms so if you have any requests or questions relating to fashion, beauty, hair, fitness, lifestyle or interior design that you would like to get in please leave a comment here or on any of my social media platforms. I love blogging for me personally but I especially love when I am able to help others or answer questions. Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet!!
Over Labor Day weekend my family went to our cabin. Here is a little video I made of our short, 72 hour getaway. I think of it as a last little summer hoorah! Enjoy.
I am in love with making these video diaries. There is just something about being able to watch and rewatch footage of your memories that is just so special. Enjoy!!
I am currently at Snowbird Ski Resort for a little" staycation." I am so amazed at the beauty of this place. It is so green and beautiful with every little hill and mountain covered in tall trees. I really just want to stay here to explore and have adventures forever.
I had an amazing weekend at Bear Lake with my family and extended family.
Check out the video diary I made from the snippets of fun I caught on film this weekend.
At the Lake House we stayed at in Bear Lake last week there were raspberry bushes everywhere. They reminded me of the house I grew up in, not that I'm grown up yet or anything but still. We had raspberry bushes that lined our backyard fence and every summer my mom would send me and my little brothers out with small bowls to pick the raspberries. It was like old times this weekend. I love those little berries. It's crazy how little things can make you remember things so vibrantly.

I have always loved hanging out on the docks, so on a bike ride last weekend on one of the trails by the lake when we spotted the Bear Lake Marina and my cousin and I stopped to take some rad pictures. Take a minute to check out her awesome shots, plus look at that beautiful blue water. Seriously so in love with it!!

First day of my family's lake weekend my little brother, little sister and I decided to be adventurous and go paddleboarding and kayaking at the beach in front of the lake house. We started heading out with our heavy boards, awkward paddles and high spirits to find the beach completely marshy and horsefly infested. I was completely covered and I went into survival mode. I threw my board in the water, then ran back through the mud to pull my brother through the mud into the water then back a third time to throw my sister on my back while carrying her kayak and all the paddles. By the time I got myself in the water and all washed off I was COVERED in horsefly bites. These glamorous bites that I acquired are all quite visible in these pictures. I thought about retouching those little bad boys, but what's the fun in that? Don't look too close!

I just got home from spending an enjoyable weekend with my family and extended family staying at one of our favorite places, beautiful Bear Lake. We barely had wifi while we were up there so I relaxed with the family and didn't worry about posting, so here I am!! This was my first outfit from the weekend. Stay tuned for more pictures and a video diary from the trip.
I posted about this dress a few weeks ago and how much I love it. I wore it a couple times on our trip to the east coast. Once on a casual trip to the zoo, then again to church Sunday. For church though I switched it up and made it a little more dressy by just adding a few little details. This is so easy to do everyday with your wardrobe! People often ask me where I shop and how I have such a big wardrobe. Even though I love a good sale and finding a deal, the key to never wearing an outfit twice is being able to layer and switch it up. My recent post about this dress, I wore the dress alone. To church I added a sheer lace top, a chunky pearl necklace, a bit of arm candy and a cute pair of wedges. I also styled my hair different which can play a big factor too! Totally different look, same dress! Now run along to your closet to see which pieces you can mix and match to give yourself hundreds of new options!
The month of June was so chaotic with trips, drill, and summer fun that I kind of fell of my blogging schedule. It was one of those situations where your to-do list is so big that you don't even know where to start. I am back though and have so much fun content to share with you this summer. Here is my video diary from the trip to the east coast that I took with my family at the beginning of June. On the third day of our trip my camera died and I was soooo upset that I hadn't packed my charger. LESSON LEARNED, NEVER AGAIN!! Anyway, a lot of this video was filmed by my cute little sibs on a dated point and shoot camera. So yeah, the video is shaky and a little grainy at some parts but the memories are irreplaceable. Enjoy my little video diary!

On Tuesday my mom and I took on the city by ourselves while my other siblings stayed with my dad. We had so much fun other than the fact that my camera died the day before. I am kicking myself that I totally spaced even thinking about bringing a battery charger. I kind of wanted to cry because I love taking pictures of everything and then going back and seeing all of the memories. Of course, both of us had our phones and the cameras in smart phones now days are unbelievable, but sadly nothing compares to my big camera. *sniff, sniff*
All of the pictures that I took with my phone I edited with VSCO Cam. I use this daily with my pictures because I love the filters so much. Then you can post the pictures to your "grid." It's like a little photo journal and I love it so much!! To see all of my pictures from DC you can go check out my VSCO. If you have an account and love it as much as me, leave a comment and let me know what your VSCO is so I can go check it out!

Yesterday we went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The home of the American Civil War battle, the Battle of Gettysburg was fought. It was one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been in. It was so green with so many amazing memorial monuments, plaques, and statues along with cool original, historic relics. My brother Jackson said to me in the car "There were a lot of people taking pictures with cannons!" To that I replied, "Yeah? Well Canon is a popular camera brand." I shared that little snip-it on my Instagram with a picture of my dad and I next to a civil war cannon, but seriously I had photography on my mind every second of that place because there were so many amazing things to snap pictures of.
I wore this super laid back outfit. It was just an orange blouse with some distressed jeans and a pair of matching orange ballet flats with ankle straps. It was so comfy to walk around in but after looking at the pictures, I love the way that the orange and light blue contrasted with everything. Such a visually beautiful combo!
If any of you are ever by Gettysburg, GO CHECK IT OUT! Seriously a highlight of my trip that I will remember forever!

I hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! I spent my long weekend enjoying the outdoors in Idaho at my grandparent’s cabin. Sometimes it’s good to get away from home for a couple days to kick back and relax. Now I have the energy to hammer out these last few days of school. Summer is in sight! Come on people, we can do this!
While we in Idaho it was raining the ENTIRE TIME! I was dreading the weather but the rain was actually very relaxing and I loved wearing all of my cozy winter clothes one last time before summer starts. What is your favorite winter article of clothing that you are going to miss this summer season?
I'm sure that you are all so fed up with my spring break content since I have been posting little bits and pieces over the past month but here is the last of it I SWEAR! Here is a quick little personal family video of our adventures this spring in San Diego.

Vacationing is so much fun. Life can be so stressful sometimes and it is nice to be able to take a step back to improve yourself, and to spend time with the wonderful people in your life. I feel like sometimes I come back from a trip 38753937 pounds heavier that when I left. Here are some tips to help you avoid that sluggish feeling when you get back home, but that will allow you to still enjoy your time away from home.
Eat clean when you can:
My first tip to healthy vacationing is to eat clean when you can. I know at restaurants you sometimes want the most carb loaded meal or a big juicy burger, WHICH IS FINE!! Especially on vacation! However if your hotel serves breakfast or you are planning your meals, plan to make those meals healthy. Another thing to do is make sure that your snacks throughout the day are healthy. Try and eat lots of fruits and veggies for snacks so you can save your splurge calories for the yummy food when you're eating out.
Find convenient (and fun) ways to exercise:
Try and work out every day. My mom is so good at this when we are on vacation! She wakes up early and takes full advantage of the exercise equipment. If that works for you then AMAZING, and more power to ya! I on the other hand cannot bring myself to doing this on vacation. Instead I look for opportunities during the day to burn a few calories. Sometimes it's something big like spacing out time in my day for a run or a relaxing bike ride with the people I'm with, but sometimes it's as simple as using the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator or walking to my destination instead of driving.
Share your desserts. This is something that I discovered worked wonders for me this past spring when I went to Walt Disney World with my parents. Obviously we wanted to try a little bite of everything so instead of all three of us getting sick and a little more plump off of all the sugary fat we were putting into our bodies, we always shared our desserts.
Early to bed, early to rise:
Don't stay up all night. If you stay up late you will sleep the day away and waste beautiful daylight hours. Trust me, this is a problem I have at home but especially when I'm on vacation. I stay up all night editing pictures because I get so excited to see them and post them. Set a curfew for yourself and stick to it!!
Plan out your food:
My last tip is to plan out your food. If you have a general idea of what you want to eat as well as set times to eat it, you will be less likely to binge eat which is so easy for me when there is good food all around you. I especially recommend this tip to those planning a cruise! Just because there is unlimited food, doesn't mean you need to put it in your body every twenty minutes.
I hope a couple of these tips will help make your next vacation a little more healthy and have you feeling a little less guilty!

On Instagram I had posted that my last post, Amparo Blue, was my last spring break post. Well I unintentionally lied because a couple days ago I found a folder with a ton more pictures in it. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a fun, safe weekend!
